The Humanitarian Chronicle is the unofficial blog of TEAR Fund NZ and is run by Frank Ritchie, TEAR Fund’s Education and Advocacy Manager. Frank created and operated the blog prior to taking up the role at TEAR Fund NZ. It is a place for anyone and everyone to engage in discussion around world issues. Predominantly these will be discussions relating to humanitarian and justice issues.
The blog will also feature events, press releases and updates on things TEAR Fund is doing.
TEAR Fund is a development and relief organisation that partners with local Christian organisations and churches in developing countries. Our partners use local staff who work directly with the poorest people, helping them find their own solutions, cutting out the middleman and reducing costs. Our key activities are child sponsorship, Microenterprise, community development projects and disaster relief.
Our mission statement is:
The purpose of TEAR Fund is to glorify God by extending his kingdom in ministry to the poor, oppressed and disadvantaged, and to encourage God’s people in New Zealand to live out the values and principles of his kingdom, by sharing with those in need.
