In the cross God is revealed not as One reigning in calm disdain above all the squalors of the earth, but as one who suffers more keenly than the keenest sufferer – “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” – Oswald Chambers.
Through the life of Jesus, God reveals himself as distinctly within the journey of humanity, intimately aware of the pain and struggles, yet the story of Jesus did not end at the cross, it did not stop within the pain. In order to offer a hope beyond the despair of the darkness of this world, God also, from within, gave a hope beyond through the resurrection.
No matter where you may be at in life, through the life of Jesus, see the God who sits with you in the low points but also offers a hope beyond the low points. Wherever you may be in life, through the example of Jesus, we see a God who is close in all the highs and lows.
